School of Methodism: Louisiana

February 7-8, 2025

Trinity Methodist Church
1000 Woodward Ave.,
Ruston, LA 71270

Registration: $25

Join leading scholars for this two-day event to explore our history as Wesleyans, what we believe, how we read scripture, what it means to live out our faith, and how our lives are shaped and formed by the worship of God.

The School of Methodism is designed to equip the laity with the riches of our tradition. Participants will in five areas of our Wesleyan heritage:

  • History – How did all of this start?
  • Theology – What is the message of Methodism?
  • Scripture – How do we approach the truth of Scripture?
  • Formation – What does the Christian life look like?
  • Worship – How does worship shape and form us in Christ?

We will dive into the riches of the Wesleyan movement and engage the question of what it means to be a Wesleyan, not only how we might think like Methodists but how we might live faithfully as disciples of Jesus Christ. The original mission of Methodism was “to reform the nation, particularly the Church, and the spread scriptural holiness over the land.” What does that look like today?

All presentations are aimed at a broad audience.

Our time together will include teaching, fellowship and worship.

Please join us for this exciting event! Registration is $25 and includes lunch on Saturday.
